The National Board sets fee for 2015/16

02 Sep 2015

The Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Practice Board of Australia (the Board) has announced that the national registration fee for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health practitioners for 2015/16 will remain the same as in the previous year.

The Board has frozen the registration fee at $100. It will cover the registration period for most practitioners of 1 December 2015 to 30 November 2016.

A fee schedule, including the fee arrangements for practitioners whose principal place of practice is NSW, will be published on the Board’s website.1

The decision to keep the fee frozen ensures practitioners are not unduly burdened, but still allows the Board to meet its obligations in protecting the public.

In addition to the registration fees received from registered practitioners, the Board has received funding support from governments.

The Board will also shortly publish the Health Profession Agreement (HPA). The HPA provides information about the Board’s financial operations, outlines the partnership between the Board and the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), and the services AHPRA will provide to the Board to regulate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health practice.
